Clapham Garden

Our design for this Clapham garden sought to make smart use of its wide but shallow layout.

The site pose a challenge in how best to make use of the space that lacked depth but was very wide. We decided to create different zones that while distinct from each other still worked as whole when viewed together.A small paved area begins immediately from the house and can be used for storage without cluttering the main view. This leads to a wooden decked dining area via an event step through trimmed box hedges which serves to delineate the transition of the zones. A further transitional step leads to a sandstone paved patio area suitable for the clients sun loungers and barbeque. The boundary fencing is clad in softwood batons stained to a warm tone and the varied planting provides year round interest and color.
