ARTIFICIAL GREEN WALL GARDEN

Islington courtyard

The owners of this small Islington courtyard wanted a design that included a soft area where their children could play whilst also keeping enough space for seating and planting.

The surrounding buildings blocked out most of the sunlight throughout the day so an artificial lawn was the most practical choice. The rubber shock pad underlay keeps a softer, natural feel suitable for a children’s play area.

A tropical looking, artificial green wall provides much needed foliage without the light requirements or maintenance real plants would need. This provides a stunning back- drop when illuminated at night.

A cantilevered bench, in cedar wood, along the wall provides ample seating and is designed to accommodate the client’s large dining table that is used on occasion. A wider seating area to the rear catches what little sun does reach the garden and is perfect for propping cushions up and catching the sun’s rays. The BBQ is discreetly concealed at the rear of the garden and can be used into the night with the installed spotlights. Newly installed lighting allows enough light for dining or can be dimmed to create whatever ambience is needed.
